Gateway 2 changes what a complete facade package looks like

Price and drawings are not enough. The design route needs assumptions, calculations, product evidence and a controlled response to change.

A coordinated price and a set of drawings may once have looked like a complete package. For higher-risk building work, the decision trail matters as much as the output.

The facade needs an explained design basis

The review needs to show what the system is expected to achieve, which information controls the design, what has been assumed and which disciplines own the remaining interfaces. Unsupported certainty is not useful evidence.

Calculations must match the proposed build-up

Wind loading, brackets, fixings, substrate position, cantilever, movement, deflection and thermal performance need to relate to the actual geometry and specification. The governing case should be visible, not hidden behind a typical detail.

Product evidence is project evidence only when it is connected

Declarations, classifications, tested-system reports and manufacturer literature must be mapped to the specified products, arrangement, interfaces and intended use. A large technical-submittal folder is not the same as a validated design.

Practical next step: build one facade evidence matrix linking every requirement to its design output, calculation, product evidence, status and owner.

Change must remain traceable

Gateway 2 is not a one-time document drop. Design changes, substitutions and site conditions need controlled assessment so the evidence continues to describe what will be built.
